MGE103 - Introduction to Financial Management

About this Course

 

Finances can seem like a drag for the best of us. However, having a solid understanding of basic
financial terms and methods is crucial to your business.

 

This workshop will give you a solid foundation in financial management. At the end of the course you  should be better placed to make better informed business decisions and manage the finances and profitability of your business.

 

The course is designed to focus on the practical aspects of finances, rather than just dull theoretical concepts. We have an innovative approach to finance which should keep you engaged and interested.

Course Objectives: On completion, you will be able to:

  • Record keeping – which books to keep, how to keep them and what to do with them;
  • Budgeting – how to prepare budgets and targets for internal and external purposes
  • Expense management – different types of expenses and why this is relevant for your business model;
  • Cash flow management – ensuring more money is coming in than going out;
  • Metrics & KPIs – setting great indicators for the health and growth of your business and how to meet them month by month
  • Internal controls; stock counts, bank reconciliations, invoicing and more.
