About this Course
Advanced Topics closes the Taxation Series. In TAC101 a good foundation was laid, and in TAC102 compliance issues were dealt with. In this course, we will deal with complex issues in Income Tax and Goods & Services Tax mainly for big companies and special sectors. The main aim of this course is ensuring that all participants are comfortable to deal with these issues when complying with the tax laws of Sierra Leone.
In Sierra Leone, the banking and financial services, telecommunications, extractives, petroleum and shipping sectors contribute immensely to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country. These sectors also contribute to a huge percentage of tax revenues making them vital for the development of Sierra Leone. However, as a result of their importance and complexities, the tax laws include special tax provisions to deal with these issues.
To improve the knowledge of employees, accountants, auditors and legal practitioners operating in these sectors, we will deliver TAC103 over a 3-day period that will include lectures, class interactions and insights from leading tax experts that are aware of the main issues. Common topics for these sectors including transfer pricing, thin capitalisation and double taxation; and specific topics for each of these sectors will be dealt with.
